About the Role
Life Environmental Services Ltd, an independent National Environmental Consultancy established in 1995, offers a Level 3 Asbestos Surveying and Analyst Apprenticeship. You will earn a salary while studying towards a nationally recognised qualification. As an Asbestos Analyst & Surveyor Apprentice, you will work on-site supporting experienced teams across a variety of environments including homes, commercial properties, and industrial sites. Your role will involve both asbestos analysis and surveying tasks through a structured training and development programme.

Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out air quality and reassurance monitoring
- Conducting fibre counting
- Performing four-stage clearance inspections
- Undertaking personal and compliance air testing
- Completing certificates and reports accurately
- Assisting with asbestos removal project management
- Collecting and labelling bulk material samples safely
- Undertaking Management, Refurbishment, and Demolition Surveys
- Completing Priority Risk Assessments for clients
- Working across domestic, commercial, and industrial property types
- Ensuring sample handling and data uploading follows company procedures

You will combine day-to-day practical experience with structured training delivered by expert tutors at Tiro over 12 months. The apprenticeship includes a blended learning approach with online sessions, in-person training, hands-on workplace support, and a dedicated mentor. You will spend at least 6 hours per week on off-the-job training, including virtual learning, practical activities, and applied assignments. You will also work towards the RSPH Level 3 Award in Asbestos Air Monitoring and Clearance Procedures, a recognised industry qualification.

This apprenticeship provides a pathway to a career as an asbestos site technician with opportunities for progression into roles such as surveyor or analyst. It offers professional recognition potential, including becoming a Registered Science Technician (RSciTech), and valuable experience in a regulated, safety-critical industry.

Requirements

Experience
No prior experience required. This apprenticeship is designed to provide new knowledge, skills, and behaviours. Applicants should not already hold a Level 3, degree, or higher qualification in a closely related subject, nor have significant experience in the field.

About You
You prefer working on-site rather than behind a desk and are comfortable in construction, demolition, or industrial environments. You are willing to start early, travel, and adapt to changing locations. You take safety seriously, follow procedures, method statements, and risk assessments without cutting corners. You remain calm and focused in regulated environments involving inspections and audits. You learn best by doing and appreciate routine as part of building consistency. You are comfortable using equipment and working in PPE or RPE for extended periods. You can work independently once trained and communicate clearly with teammates and supervisors. You are motivated by contributing to environmental safety, compliance, and public health, and you value clear expectations, stability, and career progression.

Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older due to the working environment
- Full UK manual driving licence required (any more than 3 points on licence will be reviewed)
- Must not be in full-time education
- Must have lived in the UK for at least 3 years
- Must have the right to work in the UK
