Description

Location
Cheadle Point, Cheadle Place, Stockport Road, Cheadle, SK8 2JX. This is a site-based role requiring travel to sites across the North West of the UK, with occasional office-based training days.

Hours
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm. Occasional overtime opportunities available; flexibility required.

Salary
£19,500 - £23,809 per year (dependent on age). Salary increases upon completion of PCERT qualifications.

About the Role
Life Environmental Services Ltd, an independent National Environmental Consultancy established in 1995, is seeking two motivated individuals to join as Level 3 Asbestos Surveyor and Analyst Apprentices. You will earn a salary while studying towards a nationally recognised qualification through a structured training and development programme. Your work will involve supporting experienced teams on-site across a variety of environments including homes, commercial properties, and industrial sites.

As an Asbestos Analyst, you will carry out air quality and reassurance monitoring, fibre counting, four-stage clearance inspections, personal and compliance air testing, and assist with asbestos removal project management. As an Asbestos Surveyor, you will safely collect and label bulk material samples, undertake Management, Refurbishment, and Demolition Surveys, complete Priority Risk Assessments, and ensure proper sample handling and data uploading.

The role includes company van, equipment and PPE provision, pension, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, and regular training and CPD opportunities. This apprenticeship offers a pathway to obtain BOHS P402, P403, and P404 qualifications and potential full-time employment upon completion. Further career progression includes becoming a registered Technician (RSci Tech) and opportunities for advanced qualifications such as a Level 6 Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Applied Materials Science or Applied Chemical Science.

Requirements

Experience
Previous experience is beneficial but not essential. The role is hands-on and fast-paced, ideal for those comfortable working with tools, equipment, or in technical settings.

About you
You must be accurate, diligent, and accountable with a methodical approach and strong attention to detail. You should be results-driven, able to make sound decisions on site, and committed to health and safety practices. Strong communication skills, reliability, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential. Due to the site-based nature, you must be aged 20+, hold a clean UK Driving Licence, and be willing to travel daily to different sites. The role may involve occasional heavy lifting, working at heights, and confined spaces.

Qualifications
Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are more important than formal qualifications. Applicants must not already hold a Level 3, degree, or equivalent higher-level qualification in a closely related field, as the apprenticeship is designed for upskilling or reskilling. You must be over 20, not in full-time education, have lived in the UK for at least 3 years, and have the right to work in the UK.
