Location
4 Ducketts Wharf, South Street, Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire, CM23 3AR. This is a site-based role requiring travel to sites across the South East of the UK, with occasional office-based training days.

Hours
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm. Occasional overtime opportunities available, flexibility required.

Salary
£19,500 - £23,809 per year (dependent on age). Salary increases upon completion of PCERT qualifications.

About the Role
Life Environmental Services Ltd, an independent National Environmental Consultancy established in 1995, is seeking two motivated individuals to join as Level 3 Asbestos Surveyor and Analyst Apprentices. You will earn a salary while studying towards a nationally recognised qualification through a structured training and development programme. The role involves supporting experienced teams on-site across a variety of environments including homes, commercial properties, and industrial sites. You will gain hands-on experience in both asbestos surveying and analysis, with the opportunity to obtain BOHS P402, P403, and P404 qualifications to become a certified Asbestos Analyst and Surveyor.

Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out air quality and reassurance monitoring
- Fibre counting and four-stage clearance inspections
- Personal and compliance air testing
- Completing certificates and reports accurately
- Assisting with asbestos removal project management
- Collecting and labelling bulk material samples safely
- Undertaking Management, Refurbishment, and Demolition Surveys
- Completing Priority Risk Assessments
- Ensuring sample handling and data uploading follow company procedures

This apprenticeship offers a clear pathway to a full-time position, career progression in construction, engineering, and environmental consultancy sectors, and further educational opportunities such as Level 6 Bachelor of Science degrees. Requirements

Experience
Previous experience is beneficial but not essential. The role is suited to individuals with a strong aptitude and willingness to learn, particularly those comfortable working with tools, equipment, or in technical settings.

About you
You must be accurate, diligent, and accountable with a methodical approach and strong attention to detail. Being results-driven and able to make sound decisions on-site is essential. A genuine commitment to health and safety and asbestos industry standards is required. You should be friendly, reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills are important due to varied work environments and interactions.

Due to the site-based nature of the role, you must be aged 20 or over, hold a clean UK driving licence, and be willing to travel daily to different sites. The role involves occasional heavy lifting, working at heights, and confined spaces.

Qualifications
Enthusiasm and a positive attitude are more important than formal qualifications. Applicants should not already hold a Level 3 or higher qualification in a closely related field to be eligible for apprenticeship funding. You must not be in full-time education, must have lived in the UK for at least 3 years, and have the right to work in the UK.
