We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Associate to join our Roads team based in Wales, at either our Cardiff or Wrexham offices. In this role, you will provide leadership across a range of projects and people, from early career professionals to established engineers and project managers. You will help deliver exemplary services to our clients across diverse sectors and project stages.
You could lead projects including strategic network improvements, highway maintenance and asset renewals, active travel and public transport infrastructure, road safety interventions, and public realm initiatives. Our regional client base includes Welsh Government, Transport for Wales, North & Mid Wales Trunk Road Agent, South Wales Trunk Road Agent, and Welsh local authorities. You may also support national projects such as National Highway’s Scheme Delivery Framework or collaborate with wider Transport & Infrastructure sectors including Rail, Water, Energy & Defence.
Key responsibilities include delivering engineering solutions for projects of varying scale and complexity, acting as Project and/or Technical Delivery Lead, managing budgets, programmes, financial performance, technical standards and legal compliance. You will work directly with clients, developing trusted relationships and proactively managing expectations. Collaboration within the UK Roads discipline and wider business units is essential to achieve objectives.
Using your leadership skills, you will support and manage staff in project delivery and potentially line management. You will ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental legislation and quality assurance standards. You will also participate in team resource coordination and support regional leadership with business strategies and initiatives.

Experience
Proven track record of delivering engineering excellence with a passion for design and innovative solutions. Extensive knowledge and experience in highway infrastructure engineering and design across project life cycles. Experience in commercial and risk management, report and design checking and approval for transport studies or construction projects. Demonstrated ability to win new work and manage client/stakeholder relationships effectively.

CEng or IEng qualified with post-professional experience. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve excellence. Excellent interpersonal and client management skills. Commitment to health, safety and welfare leadership. Enthusiastic about working collaboratively and supporting team goals.
Qualifications
Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status with relevant post-qualification experience. Broad knowledge of relevant design standards and codes of best practice.
