About the Role
The Bat Conservation Trust (BCT) is the foremost non-governmental organisation dedicated to bat conservation and habitat protection. We are looking for a Bat Groups Officer to join us on a part-time, permanent basis. This role involves regular travel across England and occasional travel to Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man. As a Bat Groups Officer, you will support bat groups across these regions, facilitating formal relationships with BCT and promoting effective communication across the sector. You will lead the Partner Group network, provide tailored support, identify training needs, and act as a liaison point between bat groups, BCT, and related landscape initiatives. Additionally, you will manage programmes of work, organise and attend events, oversee budgets and reporting, and line manage the Wales Bat Groups Officer. Experience
At least two years’ experience working in the wildlife sector with volunteers. Experience managing programmes of work. Experience developing and/or delivering training to a range of audiences. Experience using web content management systems. Experience managing budgets and writing reports. Project development and project management experience. Good knowledge of bat ecology and conservation, including practical experience. A full, valid driving licence.
