Location
This is a hybrid position with a mixture of working from home, Thames21’s main office at the Guildhall, City of London, and site visits across Thames21 catchment areas as required. Occasional working from Thames21’s satellite office at Bow Locks, East London may also be required.

Hours
Part-Time 0.6 FTE Permanent position, with the possibility to increase to Full-Time, subject to funding. Contract to 31st March 2028 with possibility to extend, subject to funding.

Salary
£26,936 - £36,352 dependent on experience (Officer Band A Learning - Officer Band B Developing).

About the Role
The Brent Catchment Partnerships Officer will be part of Thames21’s Catchment Partnership team, responsible for hosting the Brent Catchment Partnership and leading its strategic development and expansion. The role supports the delivery of the Catchment Based Approach (CaBA) to improve rivers and the wider environment across the Brent catchment area, which covers approximately 170km² from Edgware in the north to Brentford in the south.

The officer will deliver across four priority areas:
- Develop diverse, representative, collaborative, and delivery-focused partnerships by proactively engaging strategic stakeholders including community groups, landowners, eNGOs, local authorities, government agencies, and water companies.
- Work with partnership networks to identify, develop, and fundraise for ambitious and impactful river catchment improvement projects aligned with Thames21’s 5-year plan and the Brent Catchment Action Plan.
- Develop detailed, deliverable catchment and sub-catchment action plans that consolidate projects with stakeholder support, enabling a strategic approach to project delivery.
- Facilitate information sharing and collaboration across boundaries and organisations through meetings, site visits, newsletters, and quarterly partnership meetings, which the officer will coordinate and chair.

The officer will also represent the partnership externally at relevant forums such as the River Partnerships in London (RiPL) Group, Thames Catchment Forum, and strategic community events.

Additional duties may include supporting and leading river improvement projects, managing deadlines and budgets, and undertaking other reasonable tasks consistent with the role.

Requirements

Experience
Proven ability to work autonomously and proactively to engage diverse stakeholders and build collaborative partnerships. Experience in environmental project development, fundraising, and partnership coordination is desirable.

Qualifications
Relevant qualifications or demonstrable experience in environmental management, community engagement, project management, or related fields are preferred but not essential. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are highly valued.
