As a Carbon & Environmental Compliance Manager, you will play a key role in driving the accuracy, governance and impact of Merlin’s environmental reporting across our global estate.

Working closely with teams across Sustainability, Finance, Procurement, Energy and Operations, you will take ownership of our Scope 1 and 2 carbon reporting, environmental compliance and performance analytics. Your work will ensure environmental data is accurate, auditable and meaningful, enabling the business to make informed decisions that support our sustainability ambitions.

This role combines carbon accounting, environmental compliance and data analysis. You will lead Merlin's annual Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas reporting across 100+ locations, maintain carbon accounting methodologies aligned with the GHG Protocol and relevant regulations, and coordinate the collection, validation and assurance of environmental data. You will manage packaging compliance and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) reporting, produce environmental dashboards and reports for senior stakeholders, support internal audits and external assurance processes, and deliver environmental reporting training and guidance across the business.

Additionally, you will monitor environmental legislation, assess potential business impacts, and support wider ESG and sustainability reporting and initiatives. This is a dynamic role suited to someone who enjoys digging into data, challenging assumptions and turning environmental information into practical actions that deliver measurable business impact.

Experience
Experience in environmental compliance, carbon accounting, sustainability reporting or environmental data management within a complex, multi-site organisation. Strong practical knowledge of Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas reporting and the GHG Protocol. Proven ability managing large datasets with a focus on data quality, governance and assurance. Experience supporting environmental compliance and regulatory reporting requirements.

Strong project management and organisational capability. Enjoys working with data, challenging assumptions and driving practical environmental improvements.

Qualifications
A degree in environmental science, sustainability, engineering, data analytics or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. Advanced Excel skills and experience using data analysis or visualisation tools.
