About the Role
The Haringey Learning Partnership was established in September 2020 to streamline services available to students within the Borough of Haringey. Our students often join us after previous school placements have broken down due to ill-health, behaviour issues, or other difficulties, frequently feeling less positive about themselves and their future. Our mission is to support these students to get back on track, either by returning to regular schooling or completing Year 11 with us, preparing them to make a positive contribution wherever they go next.
We are seeking one part-time Caretaker to join our team on a permanent contract. The role is contracted at 25 hours per week during term time, covering the afternoon shift from 12:00 to 17:00, ensuring smooth and safe operation of the school premises.
Main duties include maintaining the safety, security, tidiness, and presentation of the school and grounds; performing small repairs, minor refurbishment and redecoration; opening and locking the buildings; managing alarm systems and entry points; undertaking some cleaning and janitorial tasks; gardening and weed maintenance; porterage of stock, furniture, and equipment; receiving deliveries and relocating items to appropriate storage; reporting repairs or maintenance issues; overseeing external contractors; conducting and recording safety equipment tests such as fire drills, alarms, and emergency lighting; ensuring compliance with annual maintenance paperwork (PAT testing); maintaining premises management and Health and Safety records; and implementing the Health & Safety Action Plan.
We are committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. This post is subject to enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service checks as part of our Prevent Duty.

Flexibility and a positive attitude towards varied duties including minor repairs, cleaning, and grounds maintenance are required.
Qualifications
No formal qualifications are required for this position. However, a good understanding of Health and Safety practices and the ability to carry out basic maintenance tasks would be advantageous.
