Hours
Casual - days and hours vary according to bookings and your availability and preferences. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

£13.00 per hour
About the Role
The Environmental Education Project at Rosliston Forestry Centre delivers award-winning outdoor sessions, providing fun and engaging learning experiences for schools, volunteers, corporate groups, individuals, and families. We are expanding our team with casual Rangers who will lead conservation groups of individual and corporate volunteers. Successful candidates will contribute to delivering and managing conservation tasks, running outdoor events for diverse age groups, and supporting the smooth operation of sessions including booking, evaluation, and record keeping. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic outdoor environment within the National Forest, inspiring people of all ages while developing your skills in environmental education and conservation.
Experience
- Environmental qualifications to degree level and/or relevant experience
- Experience delivering conservation tasks and working with volunteer groups
- Experience planning conservation tasks with an understanding of seasonal and weather variations and how to adapt sessions accordingly
- Experience running outdoor events for different age groups
- Basic understanding of habitats, conservation, and identification skills
- Teambuilding experience or basic awareness
About you
- A sense of humour and ability to inspire and get on with people of all ages
- Well organised with the ability to develop, implement, and manage all behind-the-scenes aspects of running successful sessions including booking, evaluation, and record keeping
- Attention to detail with paperwork
- Common sense and problem-solving skills
- Basic Microsoft Office skills and basic social media skills are advantageous
- Driving licence and use of a vehicle are desirable

- The post holders will require a DBS Disclosure
