About the Role
This is not a conventional role in a conventional organisation. The Sea Ranger Service operates at sea, on land, and increasingly with space data. We train and employ young people as full-time ocean rangers and seagrass restorers, with plans to expand ranger roles to restore nature at scale and build a global media franchise. You will work directly alongside our founder as the organisation transitions into a multiple conservation company group, supporting his evolving role as a public voice for a new relationship between people and the natural world.

This role sits at the intersection of all activities and requires managing strategic priorities across multiple entities and projects to ensure nothing important is overlooked. You will own key relationships and communications with government agencies, departments, corporates, and investors. Responsibilities include preparing board meetings, investor conversations, high-stakes external engagements, and public events. You will coordinate a content team to transform the founder’s ideas and communications into published writing, speaking material, and a growing public presence. Managing the founder’s time, attention, and follow-through across different companies and his personal platform is essential. Acting as a trusted sounding board, you will provide honest and direct feedback, never just agreeable responses.

This role offers a front-row seat to building a rare conservation company group operating simultaneously at sea, on land, and with space data to revive nature. You will gain access to conversations, institutions, and decision-makers rarely reached by others, with real responsibility from day one and room to grow as the company scales. Travel costs will be covered.

Experience
Mid-level experience in a similar role, preferably from a demanding environment such as a fast-paced government role, a founder’s office, or a well-run NGO. Experience where you have been slightly underestimated and are now seeking a role that fully utilises your capabilities.

About you
- Comfortable in British institutional settings with an understanding of how government, major foundations, and national institutions operate.
- Exceptional written English, able to draft formal partnership documents as well as simple personal emails.
- High organisational awareness, able to anticipate needs and follow through without being prompted.
- Genuinely discreet, trusted with sensitive strategy, finances, and relationships.
- Mission-aligned: while not required to be a conservationist or social justice warrior, you must care about the organisation’s purpose.
- Comfortable working across countries and cultures.
- Ready for an open, purposeful, yet demanding work environment where societal impact is central.
