About the Role
At WSP, you can shape a career as unique as you. Our aviation experts plan, design and manage the construction of the airports of tomorrow, focusing on resilience, sustainability and smart technologies. We are seeking a Civil Engineer to support the delivery of exciting UK and international engineering projects. This role requires good knowledge of multi-disciplinary project delivery and offers opportunities for international travel to work with overseas clients and WSP aviation teams worldwide. You will receive full support for your continuous professional development and have the chance to mentor junior team members.

Responsibilities include supporting the preparation of technical reports, calculations, drawings and specifications related to airfield engineering projects both in the UK and overseas. You will help identify and manage design risks, issues and Requests for Information (RFIs), ensure deliverables and milestones meet cost, quality and time targets, and champion excellent health and safety practices including safety in design and compliance with CDM regulations. Additionally, you will support Project Managers by monitoring project progress and contributing to project controls such as change management, information management and document control. Building and maintaining professional, client-focused relationships to support future business development is also a key part of this role.

Requirements

Experience
A university degree relevant to civil engineering, construction, design or a related discipline is required. Experience delivering civil engineering projects is essential; this does not need to be aviation-specific and can include highways, urban realm, maritime ports or similar projects. Experience and knowledge of international airfield design standards such as ICAO, CAA, EASA and FAA is preferable but not mandatory. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and other relevant engineering design software is expected.

About you
You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to engage both technical and non-technical audiences. You enjoy working collaboratively in a team environment, sharing ideas and solving complex problems. You demonstrate confidence working under pressure, with strong prioritisation and planning skills, and can provide examples of successfully managing these in your previous roles.

Qualifications
A relevant university degree is required. Additional certifications or training related to civil engineering or aviation engineering are advantageous but not essential. A commitment to continuous professional development and mentoring junior colleagues is expected.
