WSP is seeking Drainage Engineers at all grades specialising in Water, Drainage, and Environmental Engineering for transportation infrastructure projects to expand our expertise and technical capability. We support clients and projects throughout the UK focusing on high-profile rail, highway, Local Authority, and aviation projects, providing drainage designs from concept through to detail.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering a wide variety of civil engineering projects such as highway, rail, infrastructure, and site development schemes. You will manage projects from concept through to completion, ensuring delivery to a high technical standard, on time, and with commercial success. You will deliver a broad range of drainage services for some of the most significant transport and infrastructure projects in the UK.

At senior levels, you will lead client relationships, attend client progress meetings, manage a team of drainage engineers, support their technical development, and ensure appropriate resourcing on projects.

You will join a national sustainable water management team recognised as technical leaders in the sector, fostering a proactive, responsible, and collaborative work ethic. The successful candidate will become a key part of this team, delivering innovative, lasting solutions to the highest profile challenges faced by our clients. Our clients include HS2, Network Rail, National Highways, Local Authorities, and many others, with designs ranging from strategy, concept, and feasibility to detail design and construction support.

Requirements

Experience
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer and/or degree qualified (role dependent)
- Extensive and proven post-degree experience in designing sustainable drainage solutions
- Knowledge and understanding of drainage design principles and infrastructure drainage management
- Experience with Civil 3D and/or Causeway Flow software/MicroDrainage
- Proven knowledge of relevant technical standards, UK Building Regulations, Design Standards, Codes of Practice, and Health & Safety regulations
- Successful management of projects, programmes, and teams to meet quality and commercial targets
- Technical expertise in one or more of the following areas: Highway Drainage, Rail Drainage, Airport Drainage, Asset Management, Foul Water, Sustainable foul and surface water drainage design, Drainage modelling software (Causeway Flow or Microdrainage)
