About the Role
At ALS, you’ll be part of a global team harnessing the power of scientific testing and data-driven insights to build a healthier future. We are seeking a reliable and conscientious Cleaner/Recycling Technician to join our team in Coventry. Working collaboratively within a small team, you will help maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment across the ALS premises while supporting the efficient processing of laboratory samples, glassware, and recyclable waste.
Your day-to-day duties will include sweeping and mopping floors daily, polishing and buffing floors as required, and checking and cleaning toilet facilities twice daily with completion of cleaning checklists. You will empty office and laboratory bins daily, vacuum carpets, remove spots and marks, and clean internal windows on a quarterly rotational basis. Maintaining a hygienic canteen environment and ensuring all cleaning equipment and products are stored neatly are also key responsibilities.
In addition, you will rotate sample bottles, dispose of bottles after analysis, wash glassware, process return samples, and manage waste for recycling or disposal. Monitoring site recycling streams, compacting and baling recycling, and liaising with third-party waste and recycling contractors will also form part of your role. Adherence to Health & Safety risk assessments and maintaining a clean and tidy workstation are essential at all times.

Experience
An understanding of the correct use of appropriate cleaning products and knowledge of colour-coded cleaning equipment for different work areas. Experience working in a laboratory or office environment with awareness of Health & Safety requirements is essential.
