About the Role
We have a unique and rewarding opportunity for a Consultancy Manager to join Cumbria Wildlife Trust to help lead, manage and develop our Nature Economy Services. This role offers the chance to lead the development and management of the Trust’s consultancy, Cumbria Wildlife Consulting (CWC), alongside the commercial plant nursery. Together, these services provide a high-quality integrated offering that meets financial targets and aligns with the Trust's mission to protect and restore Cumbria’s natural environment and inspire action.
Since 2023, the Trust has operated a semi-commercial nursery at its Gosling Sike site near Carlisle, producing local provenance, peat-free plug plants for use in Trust projects and for sale to partner organisations. Recent funding has enabled expansion of this operation, increasing capacity and production efficiency.
In addition to managing these services, the role involves building new high-value strategic partnerships and business relationships, focusing on identifying and developing new business opportunities within the nature economy.
This fixed-term position is for three years with the possibility of extension.
