About the Role
As part of the wider Panda Recycling Group, an award-winning business leading the UK’s transition to a sustainable, circular economy, B&M Waste Services is seeking a Desk Account Manager to manage a portfolio of established SME customers. You will be the main point of contact for your customers, ensuring excellent service while identifying opportunities to grow each account. This desk-based, relationship-focused role involves building strong connections with decision-makers, proactively managing renewals and service changes, and helping customers maximise the value of their waste and recycling services. Your success will come from understanding customer needs, providing tailored solutions, and delivering an outstanding experience that drives long-term retention and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a portfolio of SME customers with annual spend between £7,500 and £15,000
- Act as the primary contact for commercial and service-related enquiries
- Build strong relationships with customers and key decision-makers
- Proactively manage contract renewals, price reviews, and service updates
- Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities including recycling, food waste, glass, and specialist collections
- Monitor account performance, spend, and margins to maximise retention and account value
- Collaborate with operations, billing, and customer service teams to resolve issues efficiently
- Support customers in maintaining compliance with waste legislation and environmental requirements
- Maintain accurate customer information and activity records within the CRM system
- Deliver against retention, revenue growth, and customer satisfaction targets

Experience
- Proven experience in account management, customer success, or desk-based sales
- Track record of managing and growing SME customer accounts
- Experience handling contract renewals, price discussions, and retention conversations
- Comfortable working with CRM systems and managing customer pipelines
- Experience in waste management, recycling, environmental services or related sectors is beneficial but not essential
