About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual to lead a team of project support staff within the Energy, Climate Change and Sustainability Research space at the University of Leeds. This new role offers the opportunity to provide leadership and project management support for high-profile research projects, fostering collaborations across multiple institutions and government bodies. You will lead a small team supporting a variety of projects in the School of Earth and Environment, with an initial focus on the "Production and Consumption Transformations Centre (PACT)", a five-year DESNZ/EPSRC funded project aimed at delivering the UK's climate mitigation ambitions, particularly in industrial resource efficiency and household consumption.

As team leader, you will coordinate and line manage team members, oversee strategic workforce planning, and respond to resourcing requests to ensure continuous support for relevant research projects. In your role as project manager, you will lead the coordination of activities including strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation, financial reporting, organising project meetings, liaising with project teams and partners, overseeing content production, and managing day-to-day project needs.

The role requires exceptional organisational skills and experience supporting large, complex projects in the Energy, Climate Change and Sustainability sector, with a strong understanding of research and government agendas. You will demonstrate excellent team leadership and collaborative skills, working effectively within cross-disciplinary teams to achieve impactful research outcomes.

The University of Leeds is a globally recognised institution with a diverse community and a strong tradition of academic excellence and impactful research. The School of Earth & Environment is committed to enhancing teaching and interdisciplinary research, particularly in ecology and Earth systems, and values collaborative efforts that make a difference through research.
