Role Overview
This role leads the delivery of environmentally sustainable solutions and compliance across a national facilities management contract. Aligning industry standards and best practices with client aspirations, it suits a strategic thinker focused on creating tailored, innovative solutions that deliver utility and environmental improvements. As a senior figure within the account and EMCOR UK, you will enhance our Carbon Transformation products and services, support new product development, and develop energy solutions including alternative energy options, renewable and sustainable resources, energy conservation, and asset optimisation in the built environment. This dynamic role requires strong leadership and the ability to connect with key clients to understand and deliver their environmental aspirations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and deliver energy and sustainability strategies aligned to client drivers and contract solutions.
- Produce the Carbon/Net Zero Transition Plan, identifying activities to reduce consumption and emissions.
- Produce a broader Environmental Management Plan combining all plans with best practice and accreditation.
- Develop and deliver Building and BMS Optimisation solutions within EMCOR UK's Carbon Transformation and Asset Dynamics offerings.
- Own and manage the Energy Bureau solution including billing, validation, forecasting, reporting, benchmarking, and payment.
- Conduct annual reviews of estate performance against Environmental Plans and building specifications.
- Drive efficiencies across the client estate to meet and exceed targets.
- Develop energy and sustainability reporting including M&T, trend analysis, and specialist software usage.
- Align reduction solutions within the LCAM approach as part of Asset Dynamics.
- Prepare and present credible performance reports highlighting consumption trends, data insights, progress, and opportunities.
- Optimise operating efficiency of assets, systems, and subsystems.
- Develop site-specific carbon reduction pathways with quantified net zero opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with key client stakeholders and EMCOR UK teams.
- Translate strategies and plans into working projects meeting client and internal objectives.
- Manage capital investment programming.
- Maintain and expand knowledge of emerging technologies, processes, and legislation related to energy, carbon, and environmental agendas.
- Promote energy and environmental sustainability awareness focusing on waste avoidance and consumption reduction.
- Ensure management systems compliance (ISO 14001 & 50001), including audits and accreditation support.
- Manage technical programmes involving subcontractors, consultants, and staff.
- Support Small Works, Revenue, and Capital Project delivery with project scoping and optioneering.
Experience
- Proven track record in cultivating strong relationships with internal stakeholders, supply chain partners, and customers.
- Demonstrable competence in Energy Management within complex, asset-rich environments.
- Experience in energy markets, contract negotiations, renewable energy development, and generation technologies.
- Technical expertise in implementing energy solutions.
- Experience developing and negotiating energy and sustainability partnerships, including green funding.
- Ability to evaluate new business models, policies, and agreements related to energy, cleantech, or sustainability.
- Experience working with industry stakeholders such as utilities, global energy companies, and OEMs.
- Proficient with software/IT tools used in the energy industry and cloud enablement.
- Experience informing businesses about energy management and sustainability best practices.
- IT literate including Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Smartsheets, and Visio.
- Experience within the FM industry at a senior operational level is desirable.
- Knowledge of customer operations, business drivers, financials, legislative requirements, and specialist information sources.
- Understanding of EMS & EnMS requirements is desirable.

Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Building Services, Energy Engineering, or demonstrably equivalent experience or qualifications.
- Understanding of HVAC, refrigeration, and lighting operation principles.
- Operational knowledge of BMS and control theory.
- Competency in benchmarking techniques and statistical analysis.
- Ability to prepare fully costed energy efficiency proposals and reports.
- Ability to build business cases for new techniques, solutions, or technologies.
