About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join Caring for God's Acre as an Engagement Officer for our Nature in Sacred Places project (NiSP). NiSP is an England-wide, multi-agency initiative designed to increase biodiversity within burial grounds, support nature recovery, broaden engagement and inclusion, and safeguard heritage. Funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the project is currently in an 18-month development phase involving pilot and demonstration activities, culminating in a full funding application.

The Engagement Officer will be responsible for delivering a wide range of engagement priorities over the 15-month employment period. This includes liaising with all project partners to ensure the NiSP Engagement Plan is successfully implemented during the Development Phase. The role involves inspiring people of all ages and abilities to participate in NiSP events and activities, helping to foster community involvement and awareness.

Caring for God's Acre is a conservation charity dedicated to burial grounds of all types and denominations, encouraging people from all faiths and none to explore and enjoy these special places. The organisation works in partnership with churches, cemetery managers, community groups, social historians, heritage enthusiasts, and naturalists to extend its reach and impact.
