About the Role
As Engagement Officer, you will deliver a range of activities working with communities and individuals across Hampshire to raise awareness of affordable warmth, air quality, and sustainability issues. You will increase engagement with our advice and support services by supporting community outreach activities and engaging with stakeholders. This role offers hybrid working (a mix of office and home-based), a supportive team culture, and generous holiday leave. The initial contract period is 18 months with a possibility of extension depending on funding and performance. The role requires an Enhanced Disclosure and is not eligible for UK Visa Sponsorship; applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to identify and engage stakeholders in Hampshire communities
- Deliver initiatives to engage residents, frontline workers, and other stakeholders on affordable warmth, air quality, and sustainability
- Organise and run events, deliver training sessions, and support staff to increase interaction with projects and services
- Develop links with target communities, participate in door knocking, and prepare mail-outs for specific campaigns
- Provide advice by telephone, email, or in person on relevant topics
- Contribute to communications including photos, case studies, social media, website content, and press
- Monitor and report progress using quantitative and qualitative data
- Support administrative tasks to contribute to overall organisational objectives
- Perform any other duties relevant to the role as requested by Senior Management
- Comply with the organisation’s general expectations of all employees
Experience
Experience in community engagement, outreach, or related roles is desirable. Proven ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences and stakeholders.

You are highly organised, enthusiastic, and customer focused with a passion for helping others and promoting sustainability. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with good attention to detail are essential. You are comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Qualifications
No specific qualifications are required; however, relevant experience or education in community engagement, environmental issues, or related fields will be advantageous.
