About the Role
Brightsmith is seeking an Engineering Manager for Clean Energy to lead a multidisciplinary engineering team developing innovative clean energy technology systems. In this hands-on, fast-paced role, you will take ownership of multidisciplinary design efforts across mechanical, electrical, and process engineering disciplines. You will guide system integration, manage technical risks, and mentor a team dedicated to solving some of the most urgent challenges in climate hardware.
This role offers the opportunity to lead the design and delivery of state-of-the-art power plants already deployed in real-world projects across the UK and Europe. You will oversee the technical design of direct air capture systems from R&D through to deployed hardware, ensuring cross-functional integration between engineering disciplines and core scientific principles.
The position comes with a very competitive compensation package, meaningful equity, and benefits that support long-term growth within one of the most exciting sectors in clean technology.
Experience
- Background in chemical or process engineering, ideally with experience in petrochemicals, energy, chemicals, or climate tech sectors.
- Proven track record of managing engineering teams and maximizing team performance.
- Deep understanding of technical risk in complex hardware or chemical systems and strategies to de-risk them.
- Bonus: Experience pushing boundaries in new technologies (not necessarily clean tech) is highly valued.
About you
