From £60,539 plus £4,750 flex allowance, up to 20% bonus, and benefits

About the Role
Join London Gatwick Airport as an Engineering Sustainability Manager and play a pivotal role in driving sustainable practices within the Engineering function. You will be responsible for delivering Gatwick's sustainability commitments through innovative thinking, continual improvement, and harnessing emerging technologies. This role involves sponsoring and managing projects that support sustainability goals, while effectively communicating across all levels of the business to ensure timely and impactful outcomes.

You will drive and prioritise sustainability activities to achieve a best-in-class position, utilising industry best practices to ensure solutions are fit for purpose. Establishing a culture of continuous improvement within maintenance and engineering projects will be key, alongside providing technical guidance across departments for the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of engineering systems and infrastructure.

Additionally, you will own and deliver a communications rhythm to engage the Engineering function on its sustainability journey, coordinate with delivery teams to realise successful design outcomes, and balance fit-for-purpose solutions with whole life cycle benefits.

Experience
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline
- Proven proactive leadership in promoting health and safety culture
- Strong people leadership and influencing skills to communicate across business and external stakeholders
- In-depth working knowledge of safety management policies, procedures, and practices
- Experience delivering strategic outcomes related to ESG agendas in complex, large, multi-faceted organisations
- Demonstrable success in operational environment delivery
- Proficient understanding of Health, Safety & Environmental requirements associated with construction and operational environments, including CDM regulations
- Adept at communicating at all levels and across diverse teams and stakeholders
- In-depth knowledge of current statutory regulations, British Standards, emerging technologies/processes, and industry best practice

Qualifications
