Up to £35,273 per year for Environment Officer and between £35,274 and £49,645 per year for qualified Environmental Health Officer (dependent on qualifications and experience)

About the Role
Woking Borough Council is seeking a motivated and experienced professional to join our dedicated Environmental Health Team. Reporting to the Principal Environmental Health Officer, you will play a key role in protecting and enhancing public health across the Borough. Your responsibilities will include providing expert advice and guidance to residents and businesses, conducting inspections and investigations, and taking appropriate enforcement action across all areas of environmental health. This varied and rewarding role requires a confident and proactive individual with strong investigative, written, and customer service skills. You will work with diverse client groups and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

Experience
Broad experience in Environmental Health including food safety, health and safety, and pollution control is essential.

A confident and proactive individual with strong investigative, written, and customer service skills. Comfortable working with diverse client groups and communicating effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. A full, valid UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications
Qualified Environmental Health Officer status is required for the higher salary band. The successful candidate will be required to obtain a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Certificate. The ability to converse confidently in spoken English and provide clear advice is essential. An assessment may be required.
