About the Role
Are you up to the challenge? We are seeking a passionate Environmental Acoustic Consultant to join our team and work on a wide range of projects from Noise and Vibration Impact Assessments to complex Development Consent Order projects. You will join an established subgroup within the acoustics team of over 40 people, providing environmental noise impact assessments to a variety of clients and industries including commercial, sports and entertainment, residential, industrial, and mixed-use developments. This includes Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects, international projects, and potential opportunities to get involved in other areas of the discipline such as building acoustics, events, audio-visual, stadium and arena design.

Key duties include preparation of noise and vibration impact assessments and accompanying reports, including environmental impact assessment chapters; interfacing with other areas of the firm through project work; supporting senior members in the delivery of large-scale projects; proposing multiple solutions to challenges and articulating their benefits and shortfalls to clients while considering other disciplines’ requirements; producing insightful reports, presentations, models and drawings to an excellent technical standard with high accuracy and timeliness; undertaking noise and vibration surveys, acoustic calculations and modelling; interpreting and applying relevant acoustic policy and standards; and attending meetings and workshops with clients and stakeholders.

Requirements

Experience
- Relevant consultancy experience predominantly within environmental acoustics, with building acoustics experience advantageous.
- Extensive acoustic modelling skills using IMMI, Cadna/A or similar software to predict environmental noise from road, rail (passenger and freight), industrial and construction sources.
- Knowledge of the limitations of traditional prediction and assessment methods and application of alternative methods where appropriate.
- Experience working on major infrastructure and construction projects following the Development Consent Order process is advantageous.

Qualifications
- An acoustics-related qualification.
- A full, clean UK driving licence.
