About the Role
Are you up to the challenge? We are seeking a passionate Environmental Acoustic Consultant to join our team at Buro Happold. You will work on a wide range of projects including Noise and Vibration Impact Assessments and complex Development Consent Order projects. You will be part of an established subgroup within the acoustics team of over 40 people, providing environmental noise impact assessments to a diverse client base across commercial, sports and entertainment, residential, industrial, and mixed-use developments. This includes Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects and international work, with opportunities to engage in other acoustics disciplines such as building acoustics, events, audio-visual, and stadium and arena design.

Key duties include preparation of noise and vibration impact assessments and reports, including environmental impact assessment chapters; interfacing with other areas of the firm through project collaboration; supporting senior members in delivering large-scale projects; proposing multiple solutions to challenges and articulating their benefits and limitations to clients while considering multidisciplinary requirements; producing high-quality reports, presentations, models, and drawings; undertaking noise and vibration surveys, acoustic calculations, and modelling; interpreting and applying relevant acoustic policy and standards; and attending meetings and workshops with clients and stakeholders.

Requirements

Experience
Relevant consultancy experience primarily within environmental acoustics. Experience in building acoustics is advantageous. Extensive acoustic modelling skills using IMMI, Cadna/A or similar software to predict environmental noise from road, rail (passenger and freight), industrial, and construction sources. Knowledge of the limitations of traditional prediction and assessment methods and the application of alternative methods where appropriate. Experience working on major infrastructure and construction projects following the Development Consent Order process is advantageous.

About you
Effective and flexible communication skills with the ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders. Ability to propose and articulate multiple solutions to challenges. Motivated to work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment. Holds a full, clean UK driving licence.

Qualifications
