About the Role
This role is responsible for supporting the on-site delivery of the project’s environmental strategy. Reporting to the Environmental Manager, the Environmental Advisor will support the implementation of all environmental management activities, ensuring full compliance with legal requirements and corporate standards, including Dragados’s ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 certified systems. The role requires an active on-site presence to embed a strong culture of environmental responsibility across the project delivery team, supporting the delivery of exemplary standards of performance.

Key responsibilities include supporting the maintenance of the project’s Environmental and Energy Plans, monitoring compliance with the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) and associated management systems. The Advisor will ensure all personnel understand their environmental responsibilities through site inductions, toolbox talks, and specific briefings. Close collaboration with construction, design, and commercial teams is essential to ensure environmental risks are understood and mitigated appropriately.

Regular site inspections and compliance assurance checks will focus on high-risk activities to ensure consents and client requirements are consistently met. The role promotes a proactive environmental culture by engaging with the workforce and supply chain to encourage best practices and a collaborative approach to environmental management.

The Environmental Advisor will act as a point of contact for site-based regulatory visits and support the Environmental Manager in fostering positive stakeholder relationships. Responsibilities also include producing clear and accurate environmental data to support performance and risk management, maintaining all environmental documentation, and collaborating with technical specialists to implement practical, cost-effective mitigation strategies.

Supporting ‘lessons learned’ reviews following environmental activities and incidents to drive continuous improvement is a key part of the role, as is developing and delivering targeted training to manage risk and improve competency.
