About the Role
Galliford Try is one of the UK’s leading construction businesses, delivering projects that create positive, lasting change for communities. As an Environmental Advisor, you will support the Framework HS&E Manager in all environmental aspects of the framework, ensuring projects meet exemplary environmental standards. You will help implement the HS&E strategy and environmental management systems, promoting consistency, compliance and continual improvement across the project lifecycle.

Your key responsibilities will include supporting the implementation of the HS&E strategy and fostering a positive environmental culture, maintaining the Environmental Management System in line with business, client and regulatory requirements, and providing environmental advice and guidance to operational teams from planning through to project completion. You will carry out environmental inspections, audits and ISO 14001 assessments, use environmental KPIs to drive improvement, and support or lead environmental incident investigations and reporting.

Engagement with internal teams, clients, supply chain partners, regulators and industry bodies will be essential, as will supporting the onboarding and performance management of supply chain partners. You will also prepare and deliver environmental training, briefings and awareness sessions, escalating concerns as appropriate.

Requirements

Experience
Experience in an environmental role within construction, infrastructure, water or a regulated industry. Knowledge of environmental management systems, legislation and risk management. Experience working across the project lifecycle, including design and construction.

About you
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders. Highly collaborative, organised and proactive in approach. Confident using Microsoft Office and environmental reporting systems. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across projects and offices.

Qualifications
NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate (or working towards). Membership of IEMA is desirable. Experience working within water or infrastructure frameworks is advantageous.
