About the Role
This internship is an exciting opportunity to join the British Embassy's Economic Climate and Science (ECS) team, supporting a wide portfolio of programmes and diplomatic initiatives focused on the climate and nature agenda. The successful candidate will work within a matrix management structure, reporting to multiple team leaders and collaborating across various Embassy teams and UK government departments. This role offers valuable experience in diplomacy, international cooperation, programme and project management, and environmental issues.
The intern will assist with organising and delivering official events, meetings, and visits, including preparing agendas, briefings, and managing logistics such as catering and venues. They will support internal and external communications by updating programme information, generating creative ideas to promote the UK's work on climate and nature, and liaising with the Embassy communications team for social media and press activities.
Research and reporting duties include gathering information on relevant policies and developments from UK, Colombian, and international sources, drafting documents and reports. Administrative support will involve budget management, supplier coordination, and payment processing. The intern will also contribute to managing a portfolio of climate and nature programmes under the UK's International Climate Finance commitment and engage actively in wider Embassy activities and committees.
This is a fixed-term internship lasting 6 months, starting 19 January 2026 and ending 18 July 2026. The role requires flexibility and the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines with attention to detail.
Experience
- Currently enrolled in undergraduate studies in International Relations, International Business, Political Science, Government and Public Affairs, or related fields.
- Experience in event planning and delivery.
- Good knowledge and experience working with Microsoft 365, particularly Word and Excel.
- Interest in international cooperation and programme/project management.

Qualifications
- Availability of at least 6 months before graduation date.
- Internship must be a requirement for obtaining the degree.
- Please note this internship does not count as a judiciary role (judicatura).
Desirable
- Experience working with WordPress software.
- Experience in environmental, biodiversity, or related fields.
