About the Role
This internship is an exciting opportunity to join the British Embassy's Economic Climate and Science (ECS) team. The successful candidate will support a wide portfolio of programmes and diplomatic initiatives related to the climate and nature agenda. Working within a matrix management structure, the intern will report to multiple team leaders and collaborate across various Embassy teams and UK government departments. This role offers valuable experience in diplomacy, international cooperation, programme and project management, and environmental policy.
Key responsibilities include supporting the organisation and delivery of official events and meetings, managing communications and strategic messaging for the ECS team, conducting research and reporting on climate, nature, technology, and innovation topics, and assisting with administrative tasks such as budget management and supplier coordination. The intern will also contribute to managing a diverse portfolio of climate and nature programmes under the UK’s International Climate Finance commitment and actively engage in wider Embassy activities.
The role requires flexibility and the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines with attention to detail. The internship is fixed term for 6 months, starting 19 January 2026 and ending 18 July 2026.
Experience
- Currently enrolled in undergraduate studies in International Relations, International Business, Political Science, Government and Public Affairs, or related fields.
- Experience in event planning and delivery.
- Good knowledge and experience working with Microsoft 365, particularly Word and Excel.
- Interest in international cooperation and programme/project management.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.

Qualifications
- Availability of at least 6 months before graduation to complete the internship.
- The internship must be a requirement for obtaining the degree.
- Applicants must have legal status to live and work in Colombia.
- Experience with WordPress and environmental or biodiversity fields is desirable but not essential.
