Salary
Monthly Stipend Allowance: COP $1,423,500

About the Role
This internship sits within the British Embassy's Economic Climate and Science (ECS) team, supporting a wide portfolio of programmes and diplomacy initiatives related to the climate and nature agenda. The successful candidate will work under a matrix management scheme, reporting to multiple team leaders and operating across evolving environments. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in diplomacy, international cooperation, programme and project management, and environmental subjects. Key responsibilities include supporting the organisation and delivery of official events and meetings, assisting with strategic communications, conducting research and reporting on relevant policies and developments, managing administrative tasks such as budget and supplier coordination, and supporting the management of diverse climate and nature programmes under the UK's International Climate Finance commitment. The intern will also engage with wider Embassy activities and collaborate with various UK government departments. This position reports to the TEFOS Delivery Officer and the Economic Diplomacy Officer.

Requirements

Experience
- Currently enrolled in undergraduate studies in International Relations, International Business, Political Science, Government and Public Affairs, or related fields.
- Experience in event planning and delivery.
- Good knowledge and experience working with Microsoft 365, particularly Word and Excel.
- Interest in international cooperation and programme/project management.

- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Skilled in working under pressure and meeting deadlines, with strong attention to detail.
- Fluency in both Spanish and English is required.

Qualifications
- Availability of at least 6 months before graduation date.
- Internship must be a requirement for obtaining the degree.
- Legal status to live and work in Colombia.
- Experience with WordPress and environmental or biodiversity fields is desirable but not essential.

- The successful candidate will undergo a background check according to Embassy policies.
- Flexible working arrangements are offered where operational and security needs allow.
- The internship is temporary and fixed term, lasting 6 months from 19 January 2026 to 18 July 2026.
