Salary
Monthly Stipend Allowance: COP $1,423,500

About the Role
This internship is an exciting opportunity to join the British Embassy's Economic Climate and Science (ECS) team, supporting a diverse portfolio of programmes and diplomatic initiatives focused on the climate and nature agenda. The successful candidate will work within a matrix management structure, reporting to multiple team leaders, and collaborate across various Embassy teams and UK government departments. This role offers valuable experience in diplomacy, international cooperation, programme and project management, and environmental policy.

The intern will assist with organising and delivering official events, meetings, and visits, including preparing agendas, briefings, and managing logistics such as catering and venues. They will support strategic communications by updating programme information, generating creative ideas to communicate the UK's impact on climate and nature, and liaising with the Embassy communications team for social media and press activities.

Research and reporting duties include gathering information on UK and Colombian government policies, international developments, and relevant stakeholders in climate, nature, technology, and innovation. Drafting documents and reports will be expected. Administrative support will cover budget management, supplier coordination, and payments.

The intern will also support the management of a portfolio of climate and nature programmes under the UK's International Climate Finance commitment, actively engage in Embassy activities, and participate in committees and events. Additional tasks may be assigned as part of the team's daily operations.

Requirements

Experience
- Experience in event planning and delivery is required.
- Good knowledge and experience working with Microsoft 365, particularly Word and Excel.
- Experience working with WordPress software is desirable.
- Experience in environmental, biodiversity, or related fields is desirable.

- Fluency in both Spanish and English is required.

Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in undergraduate studies in International Relations, International Business, Political Science, Government and Public Affairs, or related fields.
- Availability of at least 6 months before graduation date is mandatory.
- The internship must be a requirement for obtaining the degree.
- Please note this internship does not count as a judiciary role (judicatura).

- Applicants must have legal status to live and work in Colombia.
- The successful candidate will undergo a background check according to Embassy policies.
