35 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 08:30 - 17:00, Friday 08:30 - 13:30

Salary
Monthly Stipend Allowance: COP $1,423,500

About the Role
This internship is a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience within the British Embassy's Economic Climate and Science (ECS) team. The successful candidate will support a wide portfolio of programmes and diplomatic initiatives related to the climate and nature agenda. Working in a matrix management environment, the intern will report to multiple team leaders and collaborate across various teams within the Embassy and other UK government departments. Key responsibilities include supporting the organisation and delivery of official events and meetings, assisting with strategic communications, conducting research and reporting on relevant environmental and policy topics, managing administrative tasks such as budget and supplier coordination, and supporting programme and project management under the UK's International Climate Finance commitment. The role offers exposure to diplomacy, international cooperation, and environmental programme management in a dynamic and evolving context. The internship lasts for 6 months, starting 19 January 2026 and ending 18 July 2026.

Requirements

Experience
- Currently enrolled in undergraduate studies in International Relations, International Business, Political Science, Government and Public Affairs, or related fields.
- Experience in event planning and delivery.
- Good knowledge and experience working with Microsoft 365, particularly Word and Excel.
- Interest in international cooperation and programme/project management.
- Fluency in both Spanish and English is required.

Qualifications
- Availability of at least 6 months before graduation date to complete the internship.
- The internship must be a requirement for obtaining the degree.
- Please note this internship does not count as a judiciary role (judicatura).

Desirable
- Experience working with WordPress software.
- Experience in environmental, biodiversity, or related fields.

Additional Information
- Applicants must have legal status to live and work in Colombia.
- The successful candidate will undergo a background check according to Embassy policies.
- Flexible working arrangements are available where operational and security needs allow.
- The internship includes social security coverage (ARL).
