About the Role
The Tees Rivers Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Environmental Education Officer to develop and deliver engaging environmental learning opportunities across the Tees Catchment. Supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the TISP project is a five-year, catchment-scale initiative tackling invasive non-native species while inspiring communities to understand, value and protect their local rivers and landscapes. Key responsibilities include developing and delivering environmental education sessions for schools, colleges and community groups; creating educational resources, lesson plans and activity materials; delivering outdoor learning activities such as river activities, biodiversity surveys and citizen science; building relationships with schools, communities, local authorities and partner organisations; delivering workshops, presentations and public engagement activities; supporting project events, communications, monitoring and evaluation; and ensuring all activities follow safeguarding, health and safety and inclusivity best practices.
Experience
Experience working in education, community engagement or a similar setting. Proven ability to develop relationships with schools, community groups or other organisations. Experience of outdoor learning or environmental education is highly desirable.

Qualifications
Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use. DBS check required.
