As an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Operations Area Manager, you will advocate safety and sustainability on a regional scale, leading and managing cross-functional teams and projects to improve EHS practices across various stakeholder groups. This role combines strategic leadership, collaboration, and industry expertise, making it ideal for someone passionate about making a real difference.
You will manage the regional portfolio of EHS initiatives and programs for all local operations and regional efforts, ensuring effective execution of Google’s EHS programs. You will lead a team of EHS Program Managers, support incident investigations, track corrective actions, and develop strategic plans aligned with Google's overall EHS goals. Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders is key to fostering a culture of safety and compliance. Additionally, you will lead strategic EHS initiatives and contribute to long-term EHS strategy and alignment across all EHS verticals in the region.
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience in EHS, including managing EHS programs and teams in operational environments such as data centers or industrial settings.
- At least 5 years in a leadership role with direct reports.
- Preferred: 8 years managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
- Experience working in a rapidly scaling global organization, specifically within the EMEA region.
- Experience collaborating with vendors to improve their EHS programs and drive performance plans.
