About the Role
This role contributes to the development and deployment of Oracle's globally harmonized Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) management system across the EMEA region, ensuring regulatory compliance and providing end-to-end EHS oversight for data center construction, commissioning, and live operations. As a regional line leadership position, you will have direct accountability for EHS performance across the full EMEA footprint, leading the in-region EHS team and directing governance of contractors and delivery partners on active data center builds. You will also oversee EHS execution within Oracle's integrated facilities management model for corporate sites.

The role partners closely with OCI Data Center Operations, Data Center Facilities Development, Real Estate & Facilities Management, and regional business leadership, reporting directly to the Vice President, Global EHS. You will lead a diverse EMEA EHS team, including country and cluster resources and dedicated data center and construction EHS specialists, collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Design & Construction/Project Delivery, Facilities Operations, HR, Legal, Security, Procurement, and Oracle's integrated facilities management partner.

Expected travel is 30–50%, primarily regional with occasional international trips.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the EMEA EHS organization, including resource planning, performance management, succession, and establishing an effective operating rhythm across countries and site types.
- Serve as the senior EHS advisor in the region, providing guidance on EHS risk, controls, and performance to regional business, real estate, and data center leadership.
- Deploy and localize Oracle's global EHS management system (aligned with ISO 45001 / ISO 14001) across EMEA, integrating national regulatory requirements and regional frameworks.
- Own regional regulatory compliance and inspection readiness, engaging with regulators, enforcement authorities, and works councils as needed.
- Provide direct EHS oversight of EMEA data center construction programs, including contractor governance, safety plan reviews, field audits, and verification of critical risk controls.
- Manage EHS integration during commissioning and energization phases, ensuring safe transition from construction to live operations.
- Oversee EHS performance across operational data centers, focusing on high hazard work governance such as electrical safety, energy isolation, work at height, lifting operations, confined space, and hot work.
- Enforce contractor EHS requirements across the regional capital program, including prequalification, onboarding, performance monitoring, site assurance, incident management, and corrective actions.
- Provide EHS oversight of integrated facilities management delivery at corporate sites, verifying partner performance against Oracle standards.
- Own regional incident management end-to-end, including notification, investigation, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and closure verification.
- Drive serious injury and fatality (SIF) prevention efforts, including field verification of critical controls and accountability for high-risk activities.
- Oversee environmental compliance programs relevant to regional facilities and data centers, including waste, wastewater, stormwater, emissions, hazardous materials management, and support environmental permitting activities.

Requirements

Experience
- Minimum 12 years of progressive EHS leadership experience with multi-country responsibility within EMEA.
- Direct leadership of dispersed EHS teams.
- Significant experience in hyperscale data centers, critical facilities, large-scale construction, or other high-hazard, complex operating environments such as utilities, power generation, oil & gas, chemical, or large-scale industrial operations.
- Strong governance experience of general contractors and major delivery partners in a client or controlling-employer capacity.
- Proven capability leading EHS through rapid capital expansion including construction safety oversight, commissioning and energization safety, and operational readiness.
- Direct high-voltage/critical facilities experience is highly desired.
- Working knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems and EU occupational safety and environmental regulatory frameworks.
- Experience working in works-council environments preferred.
- Proven track record leading incident investigation and root cause analysis programs at a regional level.
- Demonstrated experience implementing and improving enterprise EHS management systems, harmonizing regional or legacy programs into a common global framework.
- Executive-level communication and influence skills in English, able to drive alignment across functions, cultures, and geographies without direct operational ownership.
- Additional European language proficiency is preferred.

About You
- Performance-driven with strong execution skills, holding self and others accountable for delivering results.
- Collaborative leader who fosters cooperation between business leaders and functions.
- Skilled at facilitating consensus among diverse stakeholders.
- Clear and impactful communicator who champions EHS initiatives and builds confidence.
- Inspirational leader who models authentic leadership and empowers teams.
- Forward-thinking with the ability to anticipate regulatory changes and build long-term organizational capability.
- Encourages innovation and practical problem-solving in a changing environment.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Advanced degree and/or relevant certifications preferred (e.g., CMIOSH, CSP, NEBOSH Diploma, ISO lead auditor, or national equivalent).
