About the Role
Masdar, the UAE's clean energy champion and a global leader in renewable energy and green hydrogen technologies, is seeking an Environmental Manager on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role supports large-scale offshore wind projects throughout their full lifecycle, from development to construction, operation, and decommissioning. You will ensure environmental compliance, provide specialist advice, manage stakeholders, and uphold regulatory and legal standards. The position involves embedding Masdar's environmental policies into daily operations, fostering a best-in-class environmental culture, and supporting continuous improvement across offshore teams and contractors.
You will deliver project-specific Environmental Management Plans, conduct audits and inspections, manage environmental risks, and lead incident investigations. The role requires close engagement with regulatory bodies and marine authorities to ensure compliance and effective communication. You will also support offshore project teams in achieving high environmental performance and safe marine operations.

Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience in environmental management, including 2-3 years in offshore wind, marine infrastructure, or major infrastructure projects
- Demonstrable knowledge of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems and their application in large infrastructure or offshore projects
- Experience in environmental compliance, permitting, and regulatory engagement for offshore wind or similar sectors
- Direct involvement in environmental impact assessments, stakeholder engagement, and management of environmental risks and opportunities
- Experience supporting project development, construction, and operational phases, including contractor and supply chain environmental assurance
About you
- Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and regulatory standards relevant to offshore wind, oil & gas, marine, or heavy infrastructure industries
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, able to work flexibly in multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary environments
- Skilled in reviewing complex documentation and using digital tools for reporting and remote engagement
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with commitment to continuous improvement and safety culture development
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, influencing outcomes and managing multiple priorities
- Flexible to travel around the UK
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline
- Professional certifications such as NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate, IEMA Practitioner Membership, or Certified Environmental Auditor are desirable
- GWO Certifications including Working at Heights, Sea Survival, Fire Awareness, First Aid, Manual Handling
- Valid OGUK Offshore Medical Certificate
- Awareness or training in CDM 2015 regulations (Construction Design and Management) is preferred
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- IT literate with proficiency in MS Office and project management software
