About the Role
The Environmental & Safety Manager will lead the brewery's Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) agenda, ensuring compliance with AB InBev standards, legal requirements, and VPO methodologies. This role champions the ambition to achieve world-class safety performance by eliminating Serious Injuries & Fatalities (SIFs), reducing environmental impacts, and embedding safety as a core value across all brewery operations. As a key member of the brewery leadership team, you will act as the technical authority on EHS matters, driving a proactive, ownership-based safety culture focused on risk reduction, continuous improvement, psychological safety, and strong leadership accountability.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
- Leading AB InBev’s Health & Safety strategy and embedding the SAFE Together culture
- Developing safety-focused leaders and integrating safety ownership into operational decisions
- Leading SIF prevention, risk assessments, and controls for high-risk activities such as confined spaces, working at height, electrical safety, LOTO, process safety, mobile equipment, machinery, chemicals, and contractors
- Managing incident investigations, root-cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions, trend analysis, and sharing lessons learned
- Ensuring environmental compliance and driving improvements in water, waste, packaging circularity, energy efficiency, carbon reduction, wastewater, decarbonization, and renewable energy
- Maintaining compliance with AB InBev standards, EHS legislation, ISO 14001/45001, audits, permits, licenses, and statutory requirements
- Leading the VPO Safety Pillar, governance, capability development, and best-practice implementation
- Overseeing occupational health and industrial hygiene programs, promoting wellbeing, psychological safety, health surveillance, and fitness-for-work
- Building EHS capability through training, coaching, onboarding, hazard recognition, and risk-assessment development
- Driving performance against key safety, environmental, and management-system KPIs including fatalities/SIFs, LTIFR, TRIR, near misses, corrective actions, water/energy/carbon, waste, compliance, audits, VPO maturity, and training
Experience
- 5–10+ years of EHS leadership experience within FMCG, beverage, food, brewing, manufacturing, or similar environments
- Proven experience managing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems and regulatory compliance
- Demonstrated success in transforming safety culture and embedding strong safety ownership
- Strong experience leading incident investigations, risk management programs, and high-risk manufacturing activities with knowledge of process safety principles
- Strong ability to develop, coach, and inspire teams while building EHS capability across all organizational levels
- Strategic thinker using data, leading indicators, and continuous improvement to drive measurable EHS performance
- Confident in challenging unsafe behaviors and having courageous conversations at all levels with the ability to influence without direct authority
- Strong stakeholder management skills with a clear ownership mentality and results orientation

Qualifications
- Degree in EHS, Engineering, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
- NEBOSH Diploma/NCRQ or equivalent preferred
- IOSH/IEMA or equivalent membership desirable
