About the Role
Kent is seeking an Environmental Specialist to join the new Environmental Team based in the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the growth and development of the team. The role is demanding and varied, focusing on technical delivery alongside project management and bidding activities. You will support team leads in expanding the team and contribute to environmental and sustainability assessments, primarily within the UK energy sector including low carbon, offshore wind, or oil and gas. Reporting to the Environmental Technical Lead for Low Carbon, you will receive support and guidance in technical delivery, project management, and business development. Key responsibilities include delivering environmental assessments, supporting engineering projects with environmental reviews, GIS data management, technical report authorship, input to cost estimates and bids, and client engagement. You will also assist in recruiting new team members to support market growth. The role requires flexibility to undertake additional tasks within your skill set as directed, ensuring operational needs are met efficiently while supporting your professional development.
Experience
- Delivering Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) or related environmental and sustainability assessments
- Working within the UK energy industry, particularly low carbon, offshore wind, or oil and gas sectors
- Meeting delivery and cost targets without compromising quality
- Familiarity with relevant legislation and industry standards
- Working knowledge of GIS and data management tools
- Preparing and reviewing technical reports to a high standard
- Contributing to successful bids and proposals
- Understanding commercial challenges relevant to consultancy businesses

Qualifications
- Degree(s) in a relevant subject
- Working towards Chartership of a relevant professional body (e.g. CEnv)
