About the Role
The Environmental & Sustainability Officer will manage and improve the environmental compliance and performance of our seafood manufacturing sites. You will translate Group strategy into clear, achievable site actions by collaborating with operations, engineering, Health & Safety, Hygiene, and technical teams to deliver and monitor progress. Your role will focus on driving measurable improvements in energy, water, waste, and carbon performance across the business while ensuring compliance with environmental legislation and permit conditions.
You will be responsible for running our environmental and energy management systems and leading practical projects that deliver improvements. Key responsibilities include maintaining legal and permit compliance across waste, effluent, refrigerants, and energy; managing the Environmental Management System (ISO 14001) and energy management (ISO 50001); supporting waste reduction and valorisation initiatives; driving improvements in water use and trade effluent quality; and reducing energy use and carbon emissions in line with company and group targets.
As the main point of contact for Group energy and sustainability teams and regulatory bodies, you will foster a culture of environmental and sustainability awareness and engagement across the workforce, embedding behaviour change. You will also actively participate in wider Hilton group workstreams to promote Seachill and enhance continuous improvement within your scope.
Your role will cover compliance and permitting, environmental and energy management systems, waste and by-product management, water and effluent monitoring, energy, carbon and refrigerant management, sustainable sourcing and packaging waste, reporting and communication, engagement and training, emergency preparedness and incident management, and health & safety.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a sustainable future while working in a dynamic and supportive environment.
