About the Role
Join a team delivering cutting-edge flood risk and water engineering solutions that protect communities and shape sustainable development. At Tetra Tech, you’ll work on high-impact projects across the UK, helping to tackle some of the most complex environmental challenges. As a Consultant or Engineer within our flood risk and water engineering team, you will support the delivery of a wide range of infrastructure and development projects valued between £1m and £100m. Your work will include flood risk solution design, hydraulic modelling, hydrology assessments, and drainage strategies incorporating SuDS and natural flood management. You will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from early-stage optioneering and client engagement through to design delivery and project close-out. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and supporting business growth activities will be key aspects of your role. You will play an important role in delivering effective, sustainable flood risk and drainage solutions that support resilient communities and infrastructure. Your technical input will help clients navigate complex planning and environmental requirements, while your collaboration and mentoring will strengthen team capability and project outcomes.
Experience
- Proven experience in flood risk assessment, hydraulic modelling, hydrology, and drainage design.
- Understanding of river and surface water flood risk, SuDS, and natural flood management approaches.
- Competence in software tools such as ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
- Experience supporting hydrological studies using UK methodologies (e.g. FEH).
- Experience contributing to projects from inception through to delivery.
- Ability to support project management activities and assist with bids and proposals.
- Strong report writing and presentation skills.
- Experience engaging effectively with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

- Holds a full UK driving licence.
- Eligible or willing to obtain SC clearance is advantageous.
Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant discipline related to flood risk or water engineering.
- Working towards or holding chartership with ICE or CIWEM is desirable.
- UK project experience is essential.
