About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Gardener to join the Estates Department on a permanent basis, based at Cross Lane Hospital. You will be responsible for providing an efficient, cost-effective grounds and gardens maintenance service across all properties owned or leased by Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust for healthcare purposes. Your duties will include maintaining grounds, footpaths, car parks, roadways and associated areas in a clean and orderly condition, ensuring gullies and gutters remain clear of leaves and debris. You will carry out a variety of gardening tasks such as preparing ground for seeding and planting, sowing seeds, establishing plants, maintaining amenity turf areas, creating and maintaining decorative areas including mixed borders, formal bedding, containers and climbing plants, as well as edging, staking and pruning ornamental trees, shrubs and plants. You will work according to agreed schedules and rosters to deliver an effective and cost-efficient service, responding appropriately to informal complaints and escalating significant issues to the Grounds and Gardens Supervisor. You will also complete training and attend courses beneficial to your role and development within the Health Service. This role requires the Right to Work in the UK. Please note this position does not meet the eligibility criteria for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship.

Experience
Experience in grounds and garden maintenance is desirable but not explicitly stated as essential. Ability to work effectively within a team and follow agreed schedules is important.
