About the Role
As the Gas and Electrical Technical Manager within Riverside Property Services, you will lead, manage, and oversee the quality assurance and compliance auditing functions for all building services across Riverside’s property portfolio. This includes accountability for compliance relating to gas, heating, hot water, water pumps, electrical systems, Heat Interface Units (HIUs), and Heat Stores. You will manage and support compliance auditors to ensure the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and quality of work delivered by both Riverside’s Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) and external contractors. Your role is critical in safeguarding Riverside’s essential accreditations such as Gas Safe Registration and NICEIC Registration, while maintaining compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

Riverside Property Services manages repairs, servicing, voids, and planned maintenance to over 24,000 properties across London, the Southeast, and Home Counties. Requirements

Experience
- Extensive experience managing compliance and quality assurance in building services, specifically within gas, heating, hot water, electrical systems, and related areas.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing compliance auditors and teams.
- Proven ability to safeguard and maintain critical accreditations such as Gas Safe and NICEIC.
- Experience working collaboratively with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and contractors.
- Strong analytical and technical reporting skills with the ability to present findings clearly to senior stakeholders.
- Good time management, planning, and organisational skills.
- Proficient with IT systems including Microsoft Office and auditing software.
- Full UK Driving Licence.

Qualifications
- Qualifications in building services management, compliance auditing, or a relevant technical discipline.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant regulations including:
- Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998
- BS 7671 Wiring Regulations
- Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
- Heat Network (Metering and Billing) Regulations
- Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
- CDM Regulations
- Desirable qualifications include chartered membership or equivalent in a relevant professional institution (e.g., CIBSE, CIOB, IOSH), Health and Safety qualifications (IOSH/SMSTS), Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) accreditation, and experience in social housing or DLO operations.
- Experience using compliance management software and data analytics tools is advantageous.
- Proven track record in training and developing staff on compliance and safety standards is desirable.
