About the Role
As a recent graduate, you will support sustainability initiatives across the OCU Group, assisting with data collection and analysis to ensure projects comply with environmental legislation, client requirements, and our Sustainability Strategy. Reporting to the Head of Sustainability & Environment, this entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop your career within the utilities sector while promoting sustainable construction practices.

Your duties will include assisting in the implementation of sustainability initiatives such as energy efficiency, waste reduction, and social value; preparing sustainability reports and ensuring compliance with frameworks like TCFD and CDP; tracking and analysing key sustainability metrics including carbon footprint, energy usage, waste reduction, and water consumption; supporting compliance with certifications such as ISO14001 and EcoVadis; developing guidance and processes to improve environmental management; conducting research on sustainable construction methods and technologies; and staying up to date with industry trends and regulatory requirements.

You will also attend project sites to monitor environmental performance, assist in organising sustainability awareness programmes and training sessions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and support pre-construction and work-winning teams to meet environmental and sustainability obligations. Maintaining accurate records and assisting with environmental audits and assessments will be key to your role, alongside promoting best practices and positive sustainability stories across the business.

OCU values safety, integrity, continuous improvement, positive impact, and unity, and this role offers the chance to contribute to our vision of being the UK's leading energy transition and utilities contractor.
