About the Role

Our Geo-Environmental team plays a key role by helping clients understand ground conditions, manage land contamination risks and unlock the development potential of sites safely and sustainably. As a Graduate Geo-Environmental Engineer, you'll join a supportive team of specialists passionate about understanding the ground beneath our projects. You'll gain hands-on experience in contaminated land assessment, ground investigations, remediation strategies, environmental risk management and foundation-related geotechnical challenges. Working alongside experienced engineers and consultants, you'll develop the technical skills and practical knowledge needed to help deliver safe, sustainable and commercially successful developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Help clients understand ground conditions and environmental constraints, providing advice that supports safe and sustainable development
- Assist with contaminated land and environmental site assessments
- Support Phase 1 Preliminary Risk Assessments and Phase 2 Ground Investigations
- Interpret environmental monitoring and laboratory testing data
- Assist with environmental risk assessments for human health, controlled waters and ground gases
- Support the development of remediation strategies and verification reports
- Prepare factual and interpretative geo-environmental reports
- Undertake site visits, environmental monitoring and fieldwork activities
Projects You May Work On
- Brownfield regeneration and redevelopment schemes
- Former industrial and commercial sites requiring contamination assessment and remediation
- Residential and mixed-use developments on previously developed land
- Environmental due diligence and site feasibility assessments
- Ground investigation and environmental monitoring programmes
- Remediation, earthworks and materials management projects
- Land quality support for major infrastructure and strategic development projects
- Assessment of ground-related risks including contamination, ground gases and controlled waters
- Sustainable redevelopment projects that bring underutilised land back into beneficial use
- Multi-disciplinary projects collaborating with civil, structural and transport engineers to deliver integrated solutions

Experience
We welcome recent graduates or those studying towards a degree in relevant disciplines. No prior professional experience is required, but enthusiasm and a passion for geo-environmental engineering are essential.

Qualifications
Ideally, you are studying towards or have recently completed a degree in one of the following or a related discipline:
- Geo Environmental Engineering
- Environmental Science
- Environmental Geology

- Earth Sciences

- Civil Engineering
- Geoscience
It is advantageous to hold or be working towards an MSc in relevant subjects such as Geo Environmental Engineering, Contaminated Land Management, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Geology or Environmental Science.
