About the Role
Cundall’s leading Sustainability & Building Physics team is a key part of our international business. As a recognised leader in sustainability worldwide, our team is committed to designing innovative, sustainable, and energy-efficient solutions that minimise the use of natural resources. We are looking for passionate graduates eager to make a positive environmental impact and contribute to sustainable homes, offices, industry, and communities.
Joining our Sustainability Team means working on innovative and award-winning projects such as the Hong Kong Science Park, Australia’s first 6 star Green Star community, and the largest biomedical precinct in the Southern Hemisphere.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in energy modelling and assist with the creation of energy and sustainability strategies for new and existing buildings. You will work across various workstreams including building physics and parametric modelling, building performance optimisation, certification and compliance, health and wellbeing guidance, net zero and whole life carbon services, and sustainability design and ESG services.
With guidance from experienced professionals, you will have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility and autonomy as your skills grow. We support and encourage progression towards Chartership through accredited training schemes.
Experience
On target to achieve at least a 2:2 degree. Ideally accredited with or working towards a BEng/MEng degree in Sustainable Engineering, the Built Environment, or an equivalent qualification. Demonstrable knowledge of building physics, particularly heat transfer, energy, thermal comfort, and natural ventilation. Experience or understanding of climate-based daylighting analysis, operational energy calculation (TM54), sustainability rating tools such as BREEAM, and life cycle carbon costing is beneficial.
About you
Organised and methodical in managing tasks and priorities, with a strong focus on meeting deadlines. Collaborative and empathetic, with excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging with internal and external stakeholders. Proactive and positive, using initiative to overcome challenges.
Familiarity with digital engineering is advantageous, including parametric modelling techniques (Grasshopper or Dynamo) or proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g. Python, C#, VB).
Qualifications
Right to work in the UK is required; sponsorship is not provided. Commitment to professional development and progression towards Chartered status is supported, with a £2,000 bonus upon achieving chartered status with a relevant professional body.
