About the Role
We are recruiting a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join us on a permanent basis. If you love working outdoors in all weather conditions, this could be the role for you! You will carry out a wide range of grounds maintenance tasks using various equipment, including grass cutting, shrub bed works, and site clearance. You will be provided with all necessary support, PPE, and equipment to perform your duties safely and effectively. In return, you will receive IOSH Accredited training and a certificate.

Duties include:
- Delivering a grounds maintenance service focused on customer involvement, satisfaction, and sustainability
- Working as part of a team to maintain all Incommunities spaces to a high standard of appearance and safety
- Operating heavy equipment comfortably and transporting it to and from the van

Experience
Practical experience in a horticultural or arboriculture role and/or a qualification in this area is required. Experience using ride-on mowers, walk-behind mowers, and standers is highly desirable. Basic grounds maintenance knowledge or a willingness to learn is essential. Experience using tools such as mowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers, and backpack blowers is advantageous.

About You
You are an excellent team player with good communication skills. You are self-motivated, respectful, trustworthy, and punctual. You have a good work ethic and customer service skills to interact professionally with customers who may approach the grounds team with queries. You are willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions and on various terrain types.

Qualifications
A full UK manual driving licence is essential, along with the willingness to pull a trailer. You must have the ability to follow verbal and written instructions and complete relevant paperwork. At least two suitable references are required. A general awareness of Health and Safety including safe site working practices is necessary. Right to Work in the UK is mandatory; visa sponsorship is not available. A basic DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check will be required as part of the pre-employment process.
