Blackpool’s Silicon Sands is one of the UK’s most ambitious regeneration programmes. Backed by renewable power from offshore wind and solar, battery storage and a low-carbon heat network, the UK’s fastest internet speeds and a transatlantic cable, an Enterprise Zone and growing interest from global investors, and a bid to become an official AI Growth Zone, this project represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity. After years of strategic development, the foundations are now in place. As Head of Silicon Sands, you will lead the programme from within Blackpool’s high-performing Growth and Prosperity Team, which is already delivering a £2 billion investment pipeline. Your role will be to bring together partners, secure funding, drive delivery, and ensure local people benefit from new jobs, skills, and opportunities. This is a unique leadership role for someone who wants to make a lasting impact on a distinctive place.

Experience
Proven experience in leading large-scale regeneration or infrastructure programmes, with a strong track record of partnership working, securing funding, and delivering complex projects.

Qualifications
Relevant professional qualifications or equivalent experience in regeneration, economic development, project management, or related fields are desirable.
