About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity to join National Westminster Bank PLC as a Health, Safety & Environmental Business Partner within the Business Banking segment. You will deliver a relationship-managed service to a portfolio of valued clients, providing expert safety, health, and environmental consultancy. Your role will focus on building lasting relationships to grow the volume and value of your portfolio through consistently high-quality customer interactions and experiences. You will be recognised as a trusted advisor, creating long-term sustainable value for customers and colleagues alike. The role requires travel throughout the South West and is based in the United Kingdom, with all normal working days carried out within the UK.

You will deliver excellent service through face-to-face meetings or via video, telephone, and email channels. By implementing a proactive contact strategy, you will understand client health and safety needs, provide commercial and profitable advice, and encourage adoption of Mentor’s digital and self-service channels where appropriate.

Key responsibilities include delivering new business growth through referrals, networking, and business generation activities; leading prospect meetings and relationship building; collaborating with the Consultancy Delivery team to ensure service delivery meets customer expectations; managing client retention and renewal pricing conversations; maintaining an up-to-date contact strategy plan focused on income growth; and supporting colleagues and clients with complex health and safety technical issues.

Experience
- Extensive experience in health and safety roles, including providing advice on complex matters
- Proven ability to identify customer needs, assess risks, and prioritise recommendations
- Experience in leading business solutions and bespoke service offerings with commercial pricing

- Strong customer focus with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to become a Trusted Advisor by conveying clear, easy-to-understand technical advice both verbally and in writing
- Excellent time management skills and flexibility to serve customers at convenient times

Qualifications
- Professional qualifications in Health and Safety or Environmental fields such as NVQ 4/5, NEBOSH Diploma, recognised degree or equivalent
- Membership of a relevant professional body, minimum TechIOSH, with expectation to attain CMIOSH within 18 months of joining
