About the Role
As the Health & Safety Business Partner for Earth & Environment (E&E) at WSP, you will be the dedicated H&S professional supporting the business across the UK. Acting as a trusted advisor to leaders and project teams, you will provide practical advice, assurance, and challenge to ensure safe and compliant project and operational delivery. This role requires strong practical experience of Principal Contractor works and confidence working alongside project managers, site teams, clients, contractors, and supply-chain partners. You will balance planned improvement activities with urgent operational support in a busy and dynamic environment.

Your key responsibilities will include integrating health and safety into business planning and project delivery, supporting E&E safety priorities aligned with the UK&I HSEQ Strategy, and influencing leadership to strengthen accountability and visible leadership. You will provide competent advice for Principal Contractor environments, applying Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, reviewing and challenging RAMS, safe systems of work, and construction-phase controls. You will support management of fieldwork risks such as driving, lone working, remote locations, and work around plant or construction activities.

Regular site visits, project reviews, inspections, and promoting Stop & Withdraw where arrangements are unsuitable will be part of your role. You will plan and deliver project reviews, audits, and management-system checks, lead or support incident investigations, analyse H&S data to identify trends and emerging risks, and provide concise reports and recommendations. Additionally, you will contribute to bids, client requests, and supplier onboarding.

Culture and communication are key aspects of this role. You will deliver briefings, workshops, toolbox talks, and learning communications, coach leaders and teams to improve safety behaviours, support H&S Advisors and Champions, and collaborate with HSEQ and other specialist functions. Maintaining professional competence and sharing lessons and good practice across the business is essential.

Join WSP to work on landmark projects worldwide and make a meaningful impact in the communities you care about. Shape a career as unique as you and create a lasting legacy.
