About the Role
The Health, Safety & Environmental Officer will oversee all health and safety matters within the bank, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements. This role involves conducting induction training, manual handling and workstation risk assessments for all employees, reviewing building fire risk assessments annually or as necessary, and maintaining comprehensive records of all health and safety activities, training, and issues. You will also monitor and promote environmental initiatives, recycling schemes, and report on environmental performance. Working closely with the Facilities Operations Manager and other service providers, you will ensure a physically secure environment and contribute to the continual improvement of ISO14001 accreditation. Key responsibilities include accident and incident investigations, organising training and supervision of Fire Marshalls and First Aiders, coordinating fire drills and major incident procedures, and being available 24/7 to respond to emergency situations. Experience
- Understanding of health and safety law
- Knowledge of hazard and risk management
- Familiarity with permit to work systems
- Knowledge of best practices in security provision and management
- Understanding of environmental legal requirements and best practices

Qualifications
- IOSH Managing Safely certificate
- NEBOSH General Certificate
- First Aid trained
- Trained in use of Defibrillator
- Educated to A level standard or equivalent
