Hours
Full Time - Shift pattern: 2.00pm to 10.00pm (with flexibility to cover 6.00am to 2.00pm shifts). Every four weeks the shift is 2.00pm to 9.00pm with five hours worked on the Saturday morning of that week.

£33,435 per annum

About the Role
Are you ready to operate powerful high temperature incineration systems that protect the environment? This role involves the safe and compliant operation of high temperature incineration and animal cremation facilities within a structured management system and under the prescriptive requirements of an Environmental Permit. You will focus on maximising efficient process throughput within operational equipment parameters and promptly respond to and report any equipment failures or process issues.

Key responsibilities include managing waste reception gates, maintaining documentation and data records for reception and despatch activities, hands-on operation of Fork-Lift Trucks and other mobile plant, and ensuring compliance with Environmental Permit conditions. You will collaborate with campus colleagues to meet service requirements and carry out basic plant maintenance while supporting maintenance teams.

The role also involves tracking daily waste throughput, generating certificates of destruction, handling and consigning off-site solid wastes, monitoring raw material inventory, and contributing to investigations and risk assessments related to environmental compliance and health and safety.

This position requires working on an eight-hour shift basis as part of a full-time team, with occasional travel to other sites and overnight stays for meetings or training events.

Experience
